In partnership with Leslie Rudd (Proprietor of Rudd Winery and Dean and DeLuca gourmet shops), Morgan has produced a luxury-priced kosher cuvee, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Solomon. This stunning offering comes from Rudd’s vineyards on Mt. Veeder and the Oakville Corridor. Creme de cassis, violet, blackberry, and smoky oak aromas are followed by a silky-textured, rich, concentrated wine displaying a terrific texture and finish. This beauty should evolve for 15 or more years.

Covenant Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, Solomon Lot 70 2008: Full bodied, intense and concentrated, a dark garnet complex blockbuster of a wine with still gripping tannins and generous wood but those in fine balance with fruits and spices. Still developing in barrels but opening to reveal well focused aromas and flavors of currant and blackberry fruits, those complemented nicely by notes of earthy minerals. Needs time for its elements to come together but as those do, this is going to be an "oh wow" wine indeed. Best 2011-2018, perhaps longer. Tentative Score 92-94.. K
