In its newest vintage, Covenant Cabernet shows off its signature tannins—soft, ripe and lush—as they frame a richly layered blend of anise, cassis, blackberry, chocolate and spice flavors. This is a wine to enjoy on special occasions right now, as it is showing off precociously. But it’s also a wine for the cellar, where it will evolve nicely. Enjoy it over the next decade.

2009 Covenant Solomon Lot 70
Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Our second vintage of Solomon Lot 70 is phenomenally lush, supple-textured and loaded with ripe, black fruit and spice flavors. It’s hard to believe, but this vintage is showing even more intensity than our first vintage. Perhaps the intense character is due to the blend of mountain and valley grapes we source from partner Leslie Rudd’s fabulous Napa Valley vineyards. They are ripened to perfection; and this wine is about as close to perfection as we think we can achieve.

Covenant’s sister label is showing a highly vivacious character with ripe, round, black cherry, blackberry and herb flavors couched in firm acidity and soft, supple tannins. The layered flavors and textures are showing beautifully in the glass, and the finish is long and lush on the palate.

Sauvignon Blanc Dry Creek Valley

Our first vintage of Sauvignon Blanc comes from a region in Northern California where Sauvignon Blanc is considered the king of white wines. This single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc comes from a small parcel just east of the quaint wine country town of Healdsburg. The wine is classic Dry Creek Valley—redolent of citrus, passion fruit and herbs. It’s crisp, clean and refreshing on the palate and will pair beautifully with lighter-styled dishes ranging from seafood to poultry. Great with salads too! Or just drink it alone as an aperitif, chilled.

2010 Lavan Chardonnay
Russian River Valley

2010 marks the third vintage for Covenant Chardonnay Lavan. The wine is made from grapes grown in a small vineyard in the Russian River Valley. It was barrel-fermented with native yeasts, stirred on its lees for 1 year and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Full bodied and framed in toasty butterscotch and pear aromas, the wine is blessed with layers of stone fruit, minerality and citrus flavors, finishing firm and bright with a lemony edge.
